# How to keep the floor ? (or any other elements)

When furnishing or renovating a room, you may be faced with the problem of how to preserve the floor.  

## In furnish mode
  
* Using Smart Staging (Violet button), the AI automatically preserves the floor.

* Use the custom mask to furnish only certain areas, leaving Gepetto with an existing context that cannot be modified or reproduced.

## In renovate / redesign mode

You can use the **exclusion mask** in renovate mode to tell Gepetto not to touch the floor or any other part of the room during his transformation.  
You'll need to draw your mask on the floor. (or click on the pre-detected elements like the floor, ceiling, walls etc.)
